An enigma is a speech or a speaker that is perplexing or puzzling.
To VP Joe Biden, stringing a coherent sentence together is an enigma. But what we can't figure out with Obama is why he does and says the things he does. Barack Obama having presidential power in his hands is like giving Barney fife a bullet for his revolver.. He's going to shoot himself in the foot every time.
I honestly think Mr. Obama isn't giving us his full attention. Have you ever tried to have a conversation with someone preoccupied with reading a book, newspaper or playing a video game? You get alot of 'uh huh's' and head nodding but that person isn't really engaged. Once they break out of their stupor, they say or do something germane to what they 'think' you were talking about and many times it's in-congruent with the discussion altogether. This is how I see Obama governing.. like his head is somewhere else. What an enigma!
Now I am sure I will be labeled as an 'enigma hater', but really what's a 'blogger' to do?
I suggest Mr. President, that you cut down on your social engagements (I would like to thank myself for throwing this great party), cut back on state of the union daily speeches (I had no idea people were organizing tea parties), give your teleprompter a chance to catch it's breath, and take a look around you to see what is going on in this country. Sorry to say that reading 10 hand picked letters a day (screened by your staff) isn't doing you any favors with us regular folks.
I know you are still smarting from the audaciousness of 'Joe the Plumber' who dared to confront you and tricked you into telling us the truth. But, it's time to get back on that horse. Even though us regular folks know we are going to get 'smeared' by you and MSNBC for standing up to you, it's what a democracy is founded on.
So please Mr. President, balance your check book and try to tamper your ego enough to give us as Americans (or for those of us who didn't vote for you. 'americans'), your full attention.
Are you buying this 'Bipartisan' mumbo jumbo? I just can't believe that the President would release this kind of information which is sure to find it's way into the hands of our enemies.
Oh, I know.. He is running out of things to apologize for.

Interpretation: Congress wants to punish George Bush and Co. for 8 successful years of daily proving his character and integrity on the issue of National Security (something they have no reference point for). More simply put: Payback is a _ _ _ _ _ .
Here is an analogy in the whole "Is It Torture" debate that I think all would agree on. Whenever we see a clip on TV of highway patrol or local police apprehending a criminal and we witness the 'use of force', something inside of us says 'wow, did they really have to do that'. Then we hear that the incident is being investigated and we sigh with relief that somebody is going to look into it. Officers are almost never reprimanded but the inquiry is necessary.. and private. The privacy part is important because police tactics and strategy are something we don't want all criminals to know about. Crooks should not be allowed to know the standard operating procedures of the cops, because it gives the good guys a disadvantage in very dangerous and potentially life threatening situations.
Likewise, exploiting the 'Interrogation Tactics' of the military during a congressional hearing is going to do 2 things for sure:
First it is really going to tick off countries who now view us as weak as a result of Obama's recent grovel-athon. This will give them the hubris to ramp up aggressions against us. Jihad's will be issued, terrorist recruiters will have a built-in ad campaign complete with sound bites and pictures, and the world will have one less reason to respect and fear our great nation.
Secondly, we are going to give the 'bad guys' inside intelligence on the workings of the U.S. Military, which gives them the ability to adapt their methods of attack with knowledge of our Achilles heel.
1. Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one's country by waging war against it or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies.
2. A betrayal of trust or confidence.
Enough about that, since it will probably happen anyway. Congress's approval rating can't drop any lower since members of ACORN alone probably make up the dismal 18% that approve of them.
President Obama can't do much to stop Congress from voting to hold hearings, but he can 'Veto' their request for a hearing, and cannot be happy about this option. As the President has been touting how he wants to move forward and look to the future, congress sees their window of opportunity to, amongst other things, payback Republicans for what they did to President Clinton. Clinton was impeached on December 19, 1998, by the House of Representatives on grounds of perjury to a grand jury. Only the second impeachment in U.S. Presidential history, Clinton was acquitted by 45-55 vote in the Senate only 2 months later. As a result President Clinton was humiliated and lost his privilege to practice law.
Whether Obama is secretly in favor of these hearings isn't clear. What is all too clear is that a congressional hearing in the first year of his presidency can only hurt Obama's favor-ability amongst everyday Americans. It will take the public focus away from the President who enjoys a 60%+ approval rating and shift it to Congress, who wallows in sub 20% approval. It will also shift attention away from Obama, who is a floundering freshman in foreign policy, onto President Bush, reminding all Americans of the passion and competency our former president, illustrating why we have been terror-free for the past 7 years.
It is a risky move on the part of democrats, since a terror strike at home in the next 4 years is more than likely. In that scenario, democrats will be vilified by the public for focusing more on limiting rules of interrogation, than keeping America safe from harm.
Either way, hearings can only minimize the President and help the fledgling Republican party. But as we have seen before, when Democrats are in power, they just can't help themselves and are doomed by their own banal nature. So I say.. Bring It On!
I welcome your comments.

The supposed "global cooling" consensus among scientists in the 1970s — frequently offered by global-warming skeptics as proof that climatologists can't make up their minds — is a myth, according to a survey of the scientific literature of the era.
The '70s was an unusually cold decade. Newsweek, Time, The New York Times and National Geographic published articles at the time speculating on the causes of the unusual cold and about the possibility of a new ice age.
But Thomas Peterson of the National Climatic Data Center surveyed dozens of peer-reviewed scientific articles from 1965 to 1979 and found that only seven supported global cooling, while 44 predicted warming. Peterson says 20 others were neutral in their assessments of climate trends.
In honor of Earth Day, I just wanted to post a few thoughts on Global Warming. The Article excerpt posted, is trying to tell us here today in 2009, that the Global Cooling phenomenon in the 1970's was never really agreed upon by the scientific community. (So, stop holding that against us now that we really want to push Global Warming). Nor was 'Global Cooling' ever promoted as Scientific Trend.
(http://www.usatoday.com/weather/climate/globalwarming/2008-02-20-global-cooling_N.htm for full story)
Look, I was in my late teens during this mythical period in history and you can't tell me the media wasn't pushing this scare story as prophetic gospel truth. Remember, gas lines odd and even? Remember the huge solar push of the 70's and 80's? I do. I was there. Busted. Game Over! Yet they are trying to sell it to us today that all references to that period in our history are a 'stretch' and 'made up' connection to today's (Totally Opposite) predictions. Wow, why don't you just tell us 'No Jews Were Slaughtered in WWII'.
This article only makes my point crystal clear that the media can take a minority voice, push it as a majority view, and castigate the majority of Americans who disagree. Take the Miss USA debacle earlier this week where Miss California stated her views that Marriage should be between a man and a woman only.
The Medi-azzi immediately reported that the judges were looking for a more 'populist' answer (populist=minority view that the -azzi's were looking for). When in fact, the populist view of California (not to mention the overwhelming majority of Americans) backed up by Prop8 in recent elections, prove that she indeed was representing the populist view of her state. What they wanted to hear was that "hey everybody should have the right to choose and do whatever they want blah blah blah.." Well, then they shouldn't have asked her a questions containing the phrases "Do you think..." You just don't do that to a Christian Conservative, they will give you the truth every time. If you want conservatives to play the charade you have to cloak your questions better (Like, "Is it true you still beat your wife").
Finally, When 'they' predicted that the ice in Antarctica was going to melt, no one predicted the Ice Growth that is now taking place in the eastern region. So they now cite the ice melt on the western region and predict the melting of the eastern region blah blah gases congealing blah blah.. Sorry I can't listen to them any more. It's almost to the point that these guys have to check with the National Weather Service first before making a prediction to keep themselves from looking like fanatics. And have you seen your favorite TV shows lately, all the actors are being forced to give these 'green' promos all stating matter-of-factly "Global Warming Is Happening."
It reminds me of German propaganda telling everyone that "Jew's are an inferior race." Global Warming is our Modern Day Hallocaust. In other words, most countries know it's wrong, don't agree with it, but are too afraid of the green gestapos to stand up and say anything. Oh but that can't happen in America! Ever heard of property being siezed under the eminent domain clause because it was declared a 'wetland'? Enviro-nazis in America are hard at work to label you 'environmentally unfriendly'.
Nazi Germany wanted to 'cleanse' the country of Jews. Everybody said it was a bad policy but no one would open up their boarders for their immigration (including America). Only the Dominican Republic took in refugees. So on Earth Day, let's remember it is just another liberal holiday created to celebrate the loss of your freedom!
The theory is that while America was minding our own business living in harmony with the rest of the world, suddenly George Bush was elected as US President. This outraged a handful of domestic airline passengers who just happened to have box cutters handy.. Aaaaaand 9-11 happened, you know like the perfect storm. If Al Gore was our president we could have apologized to the world right then and there. This would have appeased the world and showed our moral superiority. That would have been the end of it.
The theory continues, once President Bush stood up to the 'bullies' on the playground, it spontaneously generated thousands of suicide bombers who left their families and good jobs at JihadMart (JMART) to blow themselves up with the hope of killing anyone related to President Bush.
But.. what about the historical facts? Hmmm let's take a gander:
When N. Korea Lied about their Nuclear Program and launched a test missile, President Bush responded immediately, putting pressure on Kim Jong-Il and forcing him to suspend the program and enter into 6 party talks. Under Clinton Korea built a formidable nuclear program while lying to the U.S. (are you lying? No. Are you lying? No. Okay, just checking). Why, because N. Korea saw us as weak. Obama's response to N. Korea aggressively pursuing Nuclear program and missile launch? Priceless.
When China manipulated their currency to gain unfair advantages in the trade market, Bush picked up the phone and called. Not sure what he said but within 36 hours the RMB (China dollar) went from 8.6 RMB to one dollar to 7.9 RMB to one dollar. Under Clinton, China gained US technology and built up a nuclear arsenal that equaled our own. (What were all of those Chinese donors doing in the Lincoln bedroom at the White house.)
President bush retaliated for 9-11 and launched an all out assault on the Taliban and drove the oppressive regime into the caves of Pakistan. President Clinton, on the day he was to lie (testify) before a grand jury, while wearing the tie that Monica gave him, ordered a missile attack against a baby aspirin factory in Afghanistan. (Wag the dog?).
Bush Administration Report Card: Al Qaeda is decimated, Syria has been neutralized, Iraq is a budding democracy, Lybia has renounced terrorism, and our homeland is secure. B+
Obama has declared that the war on terror is no longer the policy of America, that we now 'manage' and overseas contingency program. The Somali Pirates that held Americans hostage and threatened to kill the captain of the Maersk Alabama, are not terrorists. Obama administration refuses to acknowledge the pirates as anything but profiteers. Oh and by the way we can no longer say terrorism. Now we must refer to the acts of 9-11 as 'Man Made Disasters."
President Bush stood up, as did his father, as did Ronald Reagan. He declared the actions against us on 9-11 as an act of terrorism and took actions that instilled respect and a little fear in our friends and enemies.
Are we feeling safer yet? It's starting to feel like I am living in a children's book.
We will not claim that we are great
We will not torture, that's your fate
We do not like the last 8 years
We do not like them, let's be peers
Now that the apologies and the boot licking (or whatever bowing to a foreign king is called) have been distributed all around, our President is telling us that we are safe, because the bad guys can see we are willing to talk.
When I was in Jr. High and High School and a bully was determined to harm me, I can honestly say that talking didn't help. I am a pretty good talker and I was very patient. In 8th grade when I stood up to one bully I was knocked out for my efforts. In 11th grade when I went ballistic on a bully in the locker room, I was revered, honored, respected and feared...
...Like America used to be.

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - India's politicians contesting in the general election, fearful of shoes hurled at them by disgruntled voters, have asked for more security and are erecting metal nets at rallies.
We now have a reference point for shoe dodging politicians. We have the "Bush" incident in the books and in anticipation of reporters, fresh from their 'shoe throwing' advanced courses, they want a cage match. But this story is about disgruntled voters? What are reporters these days if not disgruntled voters.
Do you see what the media has become? The man who threw the shoe at President Bush was 'fair and balanced'. He said the first shoe was only fair, and with only one shoe on he couldn't balance.
India makes America's 2 party system look like "Democracy for Dummies." There are so many factions of passionate voters in India that it is difficult to get a majority vote in any election. I have been to India, they leave a tree fallen in the middle of the road for days or weeks, a dead body lies where it has fallen because these actions are the 'will of god'. But they can't seem to leave well enough alone when it comes to their politics. Let's just say that this is not the place you want to go to get 'feet wet' politically. The Indian people are for the most part low key, polite, and articulate. But my observation is that they can go from mellow to outraged within a few political words like pushing the button on a missile launch, they go ballistic. Since I don't want to broad stroke their culture into a stero-type I will just say this, with great admiration I might add.. Any American talking head politician would be eaten alive trying to peddle their wares in India.
Wasn't it Gandhi who said "Speak softly and carry a big shoe?"

2. Because it is a check on their power
3. Because it disproves their ideas
4. Because it produces wealth they can't control
5. Because it was the foundation upon which America was uniquely built
Aw I can't add anything to this.. it's too beautiful. When the truth is spoken it rings true like a bell of justice doesn't it...
- Balak- "Come to us now and Curse Israel."
- Balaam's first response "Um, stay where you are and I will see what God has to say about it. (a generous 'cursing fee' was offered to Balaam)
- God's response to Balaam "Who are these men? Don't go with them, don't curse Israel"
- Balaam's reply: "Go back to your land, God won't let me curse Israel"
- Balak's Reply: "We will give you great honor and you are in control, we will do whatever you say, just curse Israel"
- Balaam's Reply: "OK, stay where you are for another night, I will go back and ask God again to see if He has anything further to say"
- God's 2nd Response: "Go Ahead" (God did this with Israel many times for which they always paid a heavy price)
- Balaam goes with the Princes of Moab
- God was ticked and sent an Angel to block his way. Balaam couldn't see the Angel and was beating the donkey because he wouldn't go past the Angel (Angel's of the Lord in the Bible were pretty scary awesome). Finally the Donkey started talking to Balaam as a prophetic voice to convey God's anger. (Donkey is affectionately know as Balaam's Ass)
- Happy ending is that Balaam saw the error of his ways and remained a faithful Prophet the remainder of his days. (He didn't curse Israel and they were not defeated by Moab at this point in history)
Barack, President of the United states says "I am going to meet with all the world leaders (terrorist condoning enemies of the United States) without condition"
- Bows to Egyptian Head of State
- Apologizes to European and world leaders on behalf of America's arroganc
- Apologizes to the President of Mexico for causing the drug wars in their country
- Sits idly by, as leaders of South America curse the United States then proceeds to apologize to them for our past leaders.
- President Obama has now authorized that the previous administration can be prosecuted for allowing torture during war on terrorism. This will set a precident that every new administration can prosecute the previous Administration if they don't agree with their political views. Never before been done in our history.
Our president is going down a road of Presidential misconduct that few Americans can support. The media says he can do no wrong. Mabye that is the definition of American Exceptionalism.. So where is Barack's Ass?
Natural segue from Children to..Who is babysitting the Democrats?
When Republicans are in the majority they are predictable. They lower taxes, increase defense budgets, spend money like 'drunken sailors' and push about 50% of what they believe and have communicated (they don't want to be seen as fascists so they try not to appear to be in power to the degree that they are).
Democrats on the other hand, raise taxes, spend money (duh) on all their government 'friends', and push about 50% of the things that they have never uttered. Why? Because if liberals told America what they Really believed, they would never get elected. Also, they try to appear to have all the power they wield and more. This is why liberals do much more damage to our country than republicans (not to mention most of what they want is bad for the country).
Now that the Dems are in power and have no accountability they just can't help themselves. They are fascists, racists and speaking unmasked hatred and lies with impunity.. and the media shakes their head up and down and supplicates their comments with insightful brevity, "Uh, Huh, Uh, Huh" (that's the way.. we like it).
But here is the problem and the liberal challenge.
PROBLEM: When liberals say what they really believe the don't get elected.
CHALLENGE: How can liberals say what they think, be the minority and still run the country? The answer is simple.. Socialism. They will control the banks, health care, all media (get ready to say goodbye to your friends on the right) and then they will be able to stay in power and say whatever they want.
So America, it's been nice knowing you. I will close with a comment I heard last week from Dennis Miller. "The statue of liberty is no longer saying 'give me your poor, your tired'. She is holding folks off with her torch saying "you want a piece of me?" So, roll over, let the hopelessness and depression sink in, and let Barack Obama take your freedom and your kids future.
Yeah, like the American people are going to let that happen...
